Thailand has banned imports of poultry to prevent avian influenza outbreak.

Thailand has banned imports of poultry to prevent avian influenza outbreak.       

      Thailand ban the import of poultry from neighboring countries to prevent a new outbreak of bird flu, announced Minister of Agriculture Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan.

Sudarat Keyuraphan said that the ministry ordered a total ban on imports of poultry from all neighboring countries.

The ban was imposed after some neighboring countries sent samples of dead birds for laboratory tesy in Thailand and some samples yielded positive results.

Sudarat argues that the outbreak was not recorded in areas where many birds died of unknown causes.
