      During the first 6 months in Lithuania was imported 15.51 thousand tons of meat, which is 49.3% more than I half of 2005, According to the Information Center of Agriculture and Rural Enterprise, the number of export meat for the half rose by 13, 3%, to 11.06 tons

As evidenced by statistics, the import of pork has increased by 39.3% to 14.13 thousand tonnes of fresh and chilled beef - 21 times, until 876 tonnes of frozen beef - to 2.4-fold, to 494 tonnes of mutton and goat meat - 10 times, up to 13 tons

exports of fresh and chilled beef rose by 6.8%, to 9 , 73 thousand tons of frozen beef - at 47.1%, to 459 tons of pork - roughly 2.5 times to 869 tons of mutton and goat meat - 7 times, up to 6 tons

The largest importers of meat in Lithuania are Poland, Latvia, Estonia and Denmark. Most of Lithuanian exports were Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Germany and Malta.
